My Approach

After a handful of solid sessions I decided to put a price on my work and have loved every minute of photographing families...well except maybe the one time me and my family got attacked by some ground hornets! (we were all okay and after a breathier we continued on :) )

I serve family's from Portland to Salem, Corvallis to Silverton and everywhere in between. I have beautiful locations that lends it's self perfectly to family photography. From fields to the beaches, to an urban session in downtown Salem, your family will stand out beautifully in my tried and true locations.
Family photography sessions range from mini sessions, half sessions and full, 1 hour long, sessions. I love offering a variety of lengths in my family photography options as one size certainly doesn't fit all.
Maternity and newborn photography is a joy as well! There's nothing like that new baby feel! I offer a variety of packages that cater to newborn photography, from in the hospital to in the home, I've photographed in them all!

Find an available date and time on my booking calendar that fits well for your family. Photography sessions are offered on select dates and locations for my mini and half sessions while location's for full 1 hour family sessions are totally customizable.

Once your date is booked, contract signed and 20% deposit paid, it's time to chat about our locations! I have a handful of locations in I shoot at often that always produce beautiful landscape and lighting. I will work with your vision and vibe for the session and pair that with one of my locations. Want to shoot at your family's property? Let's go! I am always down to shoot at a sentimental location.
Now that you're booked and our location is planned it's time to coordinate your family's outfits. Gone are the days of matching tops, it's all about coordinating these days. An easy tip is have a couple colors paired then with neutrals. Mix up layers and textures to give your images dimension and interest. I send all my clients my Style Guide full of useful information and resources to get you headed in the right direction. Feel free to text me an image of your outfits, I'm always excited to give my input!
3. styling
Make sure the kids are fed and don't forget the shoes :) (that happened one time). I describe sessions with me as fun, light and like you're hanging out with a friend. I aim to keep the mood pretty joyful. Let the little ones play, give them space to explore and have a good time, I promise we'll get some great pictures no matter what. Sometimes my Dad's are a little hesitant to get their photograph taken, my advice to dads: Play with your kids & flirt with your wife.
4. session day
Shortly after our session, I will deliver your proofing gallery. From there you'll favorite your top 40 images for final editing. These 40 images will get color enhancements and distractions will get removed like wild hair, people in the background, blemishes, etc. Your 40 images are then ready for download & sharing!
